او افزود: "اگر ثابت شود که کسانی علیه منافع کشور صحبت می‌کنند و مردم را تشویق می‎کنند به انجام حملات انتحاری یا این گونه گروهها را در مساجد جا دهند، طبعا تصمیم ما در این قسمت قاطع است و واضح است که ما مشترکا با نهادهای امنیتی در این قسمت اقدام می‌کنیم."

مقامهای حکومتی گفته‌اند که نگران هستند که از مساجد و مکانهای مذهبی به نفع شورشیان استفاده شود و یا این مکانها، به محلاتی برای فعالیتهای ضد حکومتی تبدیل شود.

اخیرا دولت افغانستان نظارت بر مدارس دینی را هم بیشتر کرده است.

اخیرا گزارشهایی از ولایت غزنی در جنوب افغانستان حاکی از آن بود که شماری از امامان مساجد به "تبلیغات ضددولتی" پرداخته‌اند و حکومت مجبور به جلوگیری از آن شده است.

همچنین پیش از این در مواردی اداره امنیت ملی گزارش داده که مهاجمان انتحاری از مکانهای مذهبی مانند مسجدها و مدرسه‌های دینی به عنوان پناه گاه استفاده کرده و از حمایت شماری از امامان مساجد برخوردار بوده اند.

در پی این هشدار دولت، روز جمعه، ۸ ثور/ اردیبهشت بیشتر امامان مساجد در خطبه‌های نماز جمعه مسائل مذهبی را مطرح کردند و از طرح مسائل سیاسی خودداری کردند.

با وجود این، امامان جمعه در برخی از مسجدهای چند شهر و از جمله کابل، بلخ، جلال آباد و خوست به طرح مسائل سیاسی در خطبه‌های نماز جمعه پرداختند.

شماری از امامان مساجد در کابل هر چند تاکید کرده‌اند که هیچ کسی حق ندارد که از اماکن مذهبی مانند مسجدها به نفع گروههای سیاسی مشخص استفاده کنند، اما گفته‌اند که علما حق دارند که مردم و دولت را از انجام کارهای بد منع کنند.

مقامها گفته اند که اگر امامهای مسجدها هشدارهای آنها را نادیده بگیرند، آنها را به نهادهای امنیتی معرفی خواهند کرد

عبدالباری حمیدی، امام مسجدی در کابل گفت: "دولت ما هم به نصیحت نیاز دارد، نه تنها دولت ما، بلکه هر دولتی، این را دین ما می‌گوید."

او افزود: "اگر ما از کارها و برنامه‌های منفی آن (دولت) به طور نمونه یاد می‌کنیم نه بخاطر این است که ما علیه نظام یا دولت هستیم، بلکه ما به عنوان یک خیرخواه آن را یاد می‌کنیم."

آقای حمیدی همچنین گفت که از منبر مسجد نباید به عنوان یک "سنگر" علیه دولت یا جناحهای سیاسی دیگر استفاده شود.

بر اساس برخی آمارها، در سراسر افغانستان حدود ۱۲۶ هزار مسجد وجود که از آن جمله تنها شش هزار مسجد رسما در وزارت حج و اوقاف ثبت شده و امامان آنها از سوی دولت منصوب می شوند و ماهانه از وزارت حج و اوقاف، حقوق می گیرند.
